AAR - Worldbox

Game Image not off my shit phone so people see what I'm talking about:

So I've been playing a phone game. I thought I was downloading it to my computer but the free version is only available on the phone so I gave it a try. It's called WorldBox and is a cute little world builder, pixel and fantasy style. You plop humans and animals down and they start building villages and shit. Spent like three hours playing last night, world had two idyllic and highly arable islands in the northwest and southeast that could easily support two large villages. To the northeast was a Japan like island that I made half of too cold to farm on. In the southwest, a tri-pointal island with a central mountain crest making it remind me of Chile as the people began to eek out a living on the strip of land between mountain and ocean.

So this game has loads of tools to mostly hurt but sometimes help your creations. Rain makes food grow faster, you can rain holy buffs and healing down on people if you choose, you can also napalm entire villages or do bombing runs that depopulate entire planets. There are a ton of crazier things in the full version, but this is my experience with humans only(four fantasy races in full version) and the surprisingly vast free options, probably gonna drop 8 dollars so I can play it on PC and get a steam key when he releases it on there.

So humans, they're little shits that will murder everything, we also breed like flies which is vital since in a world of terror, war and gods with the ability to MS paint spray grenades it's hard to eek out a living. I knew I wanted my people to develop civilizations and mostly be left unmolested while the world grew. I put my first people in the idyllic northwest, these people founded the village of Suchova and would become known as Dubois of Sun. Next in kinda sad Japan I laid down a pile of people who formed the village of Kysovo(reminds me of Kyoto) In the southwest the people I laid down formed Ehonah in Chileland. In the southeast even though I did nothing different one human refused to settle with the rest so from day one there were two different tribes developing. One with a population of 12 the other 1. Hilariously over the next fifty years they'd completely even out and rotate who was capital a couple times.

So I never play phone games which will become apparent as this goes on this resulted in some of the most accidentally dramatic moments in this game.

I was just kind of perusing the world I didn't want to fuck up the creation of all their little villages as these humans desperately ripped down trees for shelter and planted crops. I decided early on that the people of Dubois of Sun would be blessed by me, rain to give them plentiful crops, that was mostly it since I didn't know other buttons yet but unlike the 12 people who starved to death across the planet at some point early on, none of them were Dubois to my knowledge.

After several years, the islands sans southeast were united under their own kingdoms, Blue Dubois, Red Kysovo, Orange Ehonah and the purple and green guys dueling it out. I took a rare moment to look at their kings and noticed it random generated Ehonah's king Erek with my real name but one letter off. I starred that fucker and watched him grow. Much like any potential real and shitty god, I did not use any powers ever to help him but I watched him his whole life. 0_0

The islands were astonishingly at peace for a very, very long time. That changed one day however as twin-cities decided they were done with each other's shit. Sensing an opportunity King Erek of Ehonah led his orangists across the sea to join the fray of the twin-cities. There is a distinct disadvantage to attacking out of the sea as your people just swim over, taking arrows from the shore the whole time and then the enemy soldiers meet you in the shallows and it's bloody. King Erek didn't give a fuck and brought a dozen Ehonah warriors with him and broke of the western shores into a third village from the dueling twin-cities.

The Twin-Cities war carried on back and forth for a while, until purple united the island. Ehonah was in a tough spot, fighting a war at some point with everyone. I took another look at our King Erek. When I last looked at him he had killed 24 people and had 37 children(world population around 500). Our glorious King likely went on to sire even more children and I know he killed at least two more, as I watched him lead his armies against Dubois of Sun, bravely fighting a group of enemies until falling from arrows and blades. Gone but never forgotten King Erek first of the Ehonah.

Dubois of the Sun began to expand at this point, seizing Ehonah and all of Chileland. Kysovo became their main rival at this point, people toughened by living in the shadow of a neglectful and cold god. Ehonah struggled with Kysovo and managed to found a village in what could be seen as this Japan's Kyushu. This village of Bava would become an endless bloodbath and battleground, changing hands between four kingdoms more times than I know.

Getting bored with all my power and not using it I made an arctic northern land with only tiny edges of land capable of sustaining any life. The desperate and hardy Kysovons colonized here, eeking out a miserable living on the edge of the ice.

In the southeast, Purple joined Kysovo's war against Dubois and the tides turned, Purple and Red-Kysovo pushing Dubois all the way back to their home island. However Purple's people were still the same fuckers who made two different countries just to spite each other and the country fractured repeatedly, splintering off orangists(who became goldists lol) and breaking back into twin-cities. One guy said fuck all this and swam over to a cartoonish desert island with three pixels of farmland and a tree surrounded by a little sand and founded a village there.

Dubois experienced a total resurgence, retaking Bava and the now Goldist Chileland. They turned against Kysovo and fought a bitter war of conquest, finally subjugating them. It was now only Blue Dubois and purple. Between the island hopping and the ai this war would be so inconclusive that god had to step in...or so he thought.

I was getting antsy with all my powers so I napalmed the entire bottom half of Purple's southeast island. It's beautiful. We dropped so much holy ordinance there was only blinding light and fire columns for a few seconds, when you could finally see again the entire...everything was on fire. However it didn't immediately destroy everything. Clicking the largest spray option and the full blown bombs. I dropped a double Dresden on Purple island. God was gonna end this fucking war.

As the bombs dropped, making their iconic whistle, my jaw dropped. The entire island surrendered to Dubois and turned blue. Dubois had conquered the world!

--and then the entire world rumbled as a thousand bombs(got an achievement) dropped on that subcontinent. Every living thing on that island and in the shallows was gone. The actual island was mostly gone! Only a ringlike archipelago was left.

But Dubois of Sun had united the whole world...

Real fun game little game. This is the youtuber that got me onto the game and here's a link to the game's website.

Everything I described was with the free version. It's on the google play store. I'd say a little more than half of the content is available for free. The limitations come in that you can't use any other race but humans(so no orcs, elves and dwarves in free) and a lot of the most grandiose powers are locked, like tornados, dragons, nanobots and adding additional volcanoes. You can still drop hundreds of continent evaporating traditional ordinance, napalm, skeleton monsters, bandits with dynamite etc. etc.

I'd be willing to give this a try on PC. It sounds right up my alley but I never play phone games because... I'd be too distracted.

Predators start hungry, throw down other animals first all over the map so they get gobbled up and leave animals for both to hunt. I kept funneling piranhas away from the edge of shore by dropping animals into the water.

Or do the god thing and kill them all with whatever you want to use.
