Going Forward

Post by admin »

I would like to poll the populace about desires moving forward and what is of general interest. I intend this to be a running conversation with no decisions made until the first week in August. If the interest in there to do another round of something, then we would be targeting a September start with August allowed to develop rules and also to allow for more leisure time for those who were heavily involved with ACW.

I am very interested in another round and I cant wait to hear what sort of rounds people have thought up. I am myself more partial to the "nation-sim" rounds, but I have an open mind.

I’d like to see a comeback of the Rome game we had going. Or something similar so it’s easier for admins to manage.

I would like a chance to partake in an Europe-round, be it set on 1900 as was planned (probably easier since the bulk of colonization is done and a lot of moving pieces have settled) or another date of the admin/s choosing.

I'm in favour for a nation state round. I rather enjoyed the more slower-paced game that allows development and diplomacy between nations. Whether it be Victorian Europe/1900 or something else, I'm not all that fussed over.

I believe firstly it has to be something you're passionate about.

I think the Three Kingdoms era carries an immense amount of potential for a variety of possible games in differing styles. The two start dates that stick out for me would be after the death of Dong Zhuo, when there are about a dozen small states which all stand chances at rising to power in a vast China--a list we could readily shrink to 6-8 player nations if desired, or after the battle of Chi Bi, when Cao Cao's seemingly inevitable hegemony was thwarted and an extended period of three way war for primacy developed allowing multiple commanders, and three distinct teams.

I know you have rules already for 1900 so if that's something you and others are interested in I'd be for that.

ACW. It was a hell of a good time and it's a shame it ended.

Napoleonic, Europe 1900, and WW2 Pacific are the primary options.

I would enjoy and participate in all of those, though I'm least familiar with WW2 pacific.
