Re: Curia Session I 194 BC
Decius Bellicus rises again, sighing heavily
"M. Aurelius Cotta, please sit down and shut up unless you are voting. This is your own precedent I'm following, so lay in the bed you've made for yourself. You had your time to give us a lovely child's poem, please stop seeking equal attention."

Part of an ovation is having the prominent men of the Republic speak In your favour before it’s voted upon.
If you wish to forego the accolades in the Senate of our former censor and a triumphant ex-consul, who am I to argue with the recipient of the ovation.
Congratulations, Consul Decius Bellicus.

"I wish to read the words of M. Aurelius Cotta, during Curia Session III, it reads.
This of course was during a session when you called for a vote after a single Senator had spoken. So in the name of the people of Rome, silence with your duplicitous hypocrisy."Senator, as the presiding magistrate, I will ask you one more time to observe decorum.

Honorable Decius Bellicus,
I believe you accused your co-Consul of analingus just a few moments ago, decorum has been absent for quite some time, it is rather late to accuse one or the other of failing it now.
Despite your language more suited for a brothel than the senate floor, I still find your deeds against the Boii worthy of a triumph, and having forgone that I believe you well deserving of an Ovatio.
Aye

I supported the ovatio before this row, and I suppose I am honour bound to grant it, on my word as a Senator.
Aye.
