Curia Session IV / 195 BC / 559AUC
Consul M. Aurelius Cotta reconvened the Senate to debate some pressing matters.
I call the Senate to order to seek authorization for combat funding for my two consular legions in this year so that i might exterminate the slave revolt in Etruria.

The Censor rises from his seat and addresses the Curia.
Consul, Conscript fathers,
If the Consul asks for funding for two legions to stamp out this revolt, he has my support. Were he to ask for funding for three, four or even ten legions, he would still have my support.
We must move quickly and decisively on this topic.
I yield the floor.

Proximus Maximus stands to speak when called upon by the Princeps Senatus
This motion has my support.
Has any intelligence been gathered on the size, strength and motives of these revolting slaves? 2 legions should be sufficient however we must not allow them to escape Roman territory and disappear into Gaul, unless we want to see similar events in the future.

Consul, this motion has my support. We cannot allow slaves to revolt and go unpunished and we must show our allies that we will support any against enemies - foreign or domestic. May you bring swift, merciless, justice down upon these enemies of Rome!

Quinctilius Varus' proxy rises.
Conscript Fathers,
I wholly support Consul Aurelius Cotta mobilizing his legions in response to these slaves. Let us see the fire of revolt stomped out before it grows into an inferno.

Would there be any dissent to a proper motion being tabled at this time for vote?
