Nudges the Senator nearest him

Re: Curia Session II 195 B.C.
The Censor, having been referenced by other Magistrates, rises.
Consuls and Conscript fathers,
I would suggest that we continue the process of voting by division of the Senate members until we reach a conclusion; once we are in possession of the knowledge of who the Senate is in majority favor for each Propraetorship we can move to another stage of discussion.
At this stage it is unproductive to assume that this or that individual will pursue any given course of action; Consul Aurelius Cotta specifically has already expressed his interest in finding out the results of the Senate's vote, I second him in this regard.
If, upon the conclusion of such a vote, Consul Aurelius Cotta or Consul Decius Bellicus decides that a veto is warranted we may still have the productive outcome that at least a senatus auctoritas (will of the Senate) will have been produced.
At the current pace of voting I foresee that we can reach a conclusion shortly, as such I request those who have yet to vote to do so.
Lastly, we must keep in mind that, when addressing each other, we are all members of the Senate of the Roman Republic and some of us have been elected by the People of Rome; a level of decorum is not only suggested, but necessary.
I yield the floor.

The Plebeian Tribunes make it known that if the Senate does not come to a determination of governors, they shall convene the Plebeian Council and determine it instead.

Lucretius Tricipitinus sat with the most disapproving glare regarding the decorum of the proceedings.

Decius Bellicus rises back to his feet, sharing a quiet joke with some around him
"Please proceed with the division as requested, it seems that some of you have already begun to do this."

Re: Curia Session II 195 B.C.
The Censor rises and announces the result.
Conscript fathers,
The division of the Senate has resulted in the following:
It remains thus up to the Consuls to, in-between themselves, sort out the tie for the Propraetorship of Sicily or, should that prove impossible, resort to the augurs.
As for the other propraetorships, I recommend that we will respect the will of the plurality of Senators who have cast their vote; Rome needs the peace and tranquility that only governors, nominated by the Senate, can provide.

Re: Curia Session II 195 B.C.
Decius Bellicus rises from his seat, nodding his head in grave thanks to the Censor
"Conscript fathers, honored Censor, the will of the Senate has been heard, and it has been heard clear.
I submit to the body the approval of the following appointments for magistrates of our provinces.
Proconsul of Sicily A. Valerius Marius
Propraetor of Sardinia et Corsica P. Lucius Regulus
Propraetor of Hispania Citerior M. Claudius Marcellus
Propraetor of Hispania Ulterior G. Domitius Corbulo
Decius Bellicus pauses, turning to face towards his Co-Consul
"That is of course, unless the Co-Consul plans to veto the will of the Senate?"
