8 Days of Games have been organized to celebrate Apollo.

At the center of these games shall be the races. All players shall have the chance to buy into the races. If you do so, you must pay a 1,000 Denarii fee, and you should pick a number, 1 through 20. A D20 die will be rolled at the end of the games. The winner will be he who chose correct, or who was closest without going over. If two or more players pick the same number and win, they will share the prize.

The minimum prize will be 5,000 Denarii + the fees of the players who have bought into the race betting.

If players who own gladiators wish to stage competitions, the Aediles will award minor nominal prizes to the victors. Those players should arrange the bouts with each other privately and inform the administrator of their intention to hold a match.

[Allectus Fabius Maximus]

Allectus enters the Circus Maximus flanked by his two bodyguards, Decius and Decimus, both strong and burly men on constant lookout and with a keen awareness of their surroundings. Following close by is his Scribae with some scrolls and papers under his arm, then Allectus’ slave is seen at the end carrying an amphora of wine. Allectus takes a seat in the Senatorial section and motions to his slave, Attia, to bring him some wine, which she does promptly. Allectus sits there for awhile observing the proceedings and performances before the main show. He motions to his Scribae and whispers something to him. The man then walks over to the betting booth then returns.

[Hostus Lucretius Tricipitinus]

A slave for Hostus Lucretius Tricipitinus could be seen at the games, he placed a bet and then mingled with the other slaves, hoping to catch some of the action

Today, we have a special Gladiatorial contest. Senator Postumus Caesonius Tacitus and and Propraetor Gnaeus Domitius Corbulo have agreed to stage a game. The prize shall be the sum of 2,000 Denarii. The Senator Marcus Aurelius Cotta has sponsored a great many aspects of this festival and it is thanks to his generosity and spirit that our thanks to Apollo shall be ever richer.

Each participant in this match has been kind enough to send along a sheet of biographical information about their Gladiator for me to read.

Now, In this corner, we have the Gladiator of Postumus Caesonius, the legendary Alexandrius. Alexandrius, it is said, could bench press a fully grown deer before he was finished suckling at his mothers teat. Alexandrius, it is said, is so fast that last week he out ran a snake which he found inside the Ludus where he trains. Most importantly, Alexandrius has demonstrated a renowned and proficient use of the Gladius

In this other corner, we have the Gladiator of Domitius Corbulo, Budar The Savage. Seven feet tall, a shocking 395 pounds, Budar is described by his owner as a hulking pile of man meat that he personally captured from a village in Hispania. Propraetor Domitius Corbulo has sent a follow up note advising the crowd that "If we think this guy is big, wait til you see the other guys I captured". Stay tuned to future matches to find out the girth of these separate Gladiators. Budar does not appear to be significantly trained in any way, however it is listed here that Propraetor Domitius Corbulo "Once saw Budar rip the limbs from a live pig and eat them like a wealthy Roman might eat a string of grapes"

Postumus Caesonius Tacitus would be in attendance watching the games.

[Allectus Fabius Maximus]

Allectus continued to have his slave pour him some more wine. In between sips, random individuals would come over and pay their respects to him. He would give them a slight nod and wished them to enjoy the games. One particular individual offered Allectus a bowl of fruit which he accepted kindly. Decius took the first bite and waited a few minutes before confirming it was safe to eat. Allectus commanded Attia to cut the fruit and serve it to him. He looked on at the performances eager to see the chariot races.

And Budar is stunningly defeated, made to look like a lumbering giant shackled to the earth, while Alexandrius nimbly danced around scoring hits.
