LEX DE ANNO URBIS ROMAE CONSERVANDO (Law on Rome's Yearly Maintenance)

WHEREAS the city of Rome requires yearly maintenance of its aqueducts, temples and other public property;

Be it enacted by the Senate of the Roman Republic in the Curia Hostilia assembled,

I. The Censor, or in his absence the Aediles, is authorized to allocate 500,000 Denarii for the purposes of conducting Rome's yearly infrastructural maintenance;

Written into the annals in the consular year 194BC of Gaius Cassius Vecellinus and Titus Furius Pavo.
