The Censor, having been referenced by other Magistrates, rises.
Consuls and Conscript fathers,
I would suggest that we continue the process of voting by division of the Senate members until we reach a conclusion; once we are in possession of the knowledge of who the Senate is in majority favor for each Propraetorship we can move to another stage of discussion.
At this stage it is unproductive to assume that this or that individual will pursue any given course of action; Consul Aurelius Cotta specifically has already expressed his interest in finding out the results of the Senate's vote, I second him in this regard.
If, upon the conclusion of such a vote, Consul Aurelius Cotta or Consul Decius Bellicus decides that a veto is warranted we may still have the productive outcome that at least a senatus auctoritas (will of the Senate) will have been produced.
At the current pace of voting I foresee that we can reach a conclusion shortly, as such I request those who have yet to vote to do so.
Lastly, we must keep in mind that, when addressing each other, we are all members of the Senate of the Roman Republic and some of us have been elected by the People of Rome; a level of decorum is not only suggested, but necessary.

The Plebeian Tribunes make it known that if the Senate does not come to a determination of governors, they shall convene the Plebeian Council and determine it instead.

Turning towards the presiding magistrate, the Censor addresses him.
It remains thus up to the Consuls to, in-between themselves, sort out the tie for the Propraetorship of Sicily or, should that prove impossible, resort to the augurs.
As for the other propraetorships, I recommend that we will respect the will of the plurality of Senators who have cast their vote; Rome needs the peace and tranquility that only governors, nominated by the Senate, can provide.
