Lictors enter the Assembly, Consul Decius Bellicus in their midst, showing signs of his battles and travels.
“An Assembly, proxy what is the meaning of this?”
The Proxy moves to speak to the Consul, gesticulating towards Aurelius Cotta, before being cut off by the Consul, now visibly incensed
“Had I known the real threat to Rome were in our midst, I would have left the Boii to my Legatus, who served faithfully, unlike you Aurelius Cotta. Is this what you’ve been up to while I was fighting in the name of the Republic? Is this your view of what the duties of a Consul should be?”
He looks around the Assembly
“I have brought back hundreds of thousands of Denarii for the glory of Rome, thousands of prisoners from the barbarians and did so with little in the way of losses…and you dare act as anything but an impediment to Rome? Have you no shame?”
He looks to the Legate
“Honored Tribune, as the other Consul I ask your leave that you reject the petty power grab of my erstwhile peer, for the good of Rome. I have foregone all notions of a triumph, not as a ploy as he has done, but because it is what is best for us all. We should not end the age of the Two Plebians with this much shame.”

"Sir, we are voting. The time for discourse is over. I would ask that you not make a scene"

“Very well, then I call for the Assembly to vote NAY on this proposal, let that be considered the true triumph of this return of my campaign.”

A tribune of the plebs, Tiberius Caecilius Longus, walks to the center of the Comitium and announced his veto of the legislation before the final tally is confirmed. The topic at hand remains unsolved.
