Election Results:

While legal for over one hundred years, we have yet to see the reign of two Plebeian Consuls. The last time it was thought likely to happen, in 215 B.C., the omens were read, and it was determined that only one Plebeian should take office as Consul.

That is not the case now. The violence in the Forum has made many sympathetic to the cause of old school constitutionalism that Aurelius Cotta has espoused. Additionally, the man held the endorsement of both sitting consuls. Simultaneously, great suspicion has been aroused by the ardent support of the violent mob for Lucius Regulus. Even before the calamity in the forum, anyone who spoke out against Lucius Regulus had been summarily tossed out of the Forum. Not willing to run afoul of the Censor, a great many chose what they felt was the safe options of Aurelius Cotta and Decius Bellicus. They shall take office in March of next year.
