Based on the discussions and thoughtful recommendations here, I have amended the proposed law as follows. It is no small part to Quinctilius Varus’ honesty and Roman virtue during our competitive election that I feel comfortable and confident to pen his name to this law. May we all seek to work alongside our former rivals and serve Rome together.
Section I.
Sicily - Marcus Silvius Pastor
Sardinia et Corsica - Postumus Caesonius Tacitus
Hispania Ulterior - Proconsul M. Decius Bellicus
Hispania Citerior - Gaius Quinctilius Varus
Section II.
For the purpose of protecting the Sardinian province and driving back any barbarian incursions, a Socii legion shall be raised for the governor of Sardinia etc Corsica.
Allectus Fabius Maximus, having made himself open to serving Rome in a military capacity shall be my Naval legate against the tyrant Nabis. He was one quote at home aboard the vessel on our way to Carthage, if I recall.
