[Gaius Quinctilius Varus]

I've been playing forum games for 21 years. I made my first forum New Year's Eve 2001. I decided a couple months ago that this will be my last forum game.

CoO is incredible, Chuck runs amazing games and has come the closest I've ever seen to that perfect balance of history and game. The valley walls of history are steep, but surmountable. The details and effort are simply incredible. These CoO rounds will be--mostly--fond memories I carry with me my whole life.

He has told me candidly that if my country is destroyed, I will sit out the rest of the round. I completely understand and respect that. On a personal level, I love fighting wars and this is what I want to be my end. But I am also willing to keep playing as the cripple who eats embarrassment for breakfast lunch and dinner.

So please, don't insult me by thinking my actions flippant or frivolous. I spend hours every week researching for this game and it has been a joy to play, even if dealing with the Czech crisis was plain misery.

I look forward to how things play out and I will still be around, but I think my time has come to step away after this round concludes, however that may be for me.
